National Arts Council launches ‘Catch’ platform with music video starring Shye, ABANGSAPAU, Aisyah Aziz, and Sezairi — watch

May 21, 2025

The National Arts Council (NAC) has unveiled a new music video to celebrate the launch of its new arts platform, Catch.

Starring local singer-songwriter and producer Shye, hip-hop act ABANGSAPAU, vocalist Aisyah Aziz, and singer-songwriter Sezairi, the eye-catching music video accompanies ‘Just Catch’, a song from producer Josh Wei and lyricist Linying.

A remake of Thai star SORN‘s 2023 track with Seungyeon, ‘Rowdy’, the track, which also includes rap lines penned by ABANGSAPAU, urges listeners to check out NAC’s latest offering.

Wei, who was involved in creating SORN’s track alongside Linying said on social media: “When we created ‘Rowdy’, we never thought or intended for it to be one day sampled. Seeing how it was heavily inspired by my musical memories growing up in Singapore, I couldn’t be happier when SORN gave her blessing to allow us to make the adaptation for a platform that will champion local arts and culture, it just felt right.”

Aside from featuring the four aforementioned artists, the music video for ‘Just Catch’ takes viewers on a tour of the local arts scene by spotlighting arts groups such as Parampara, Bhaskar’s Arts Academy, and the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre. It also includes appearances by non-musicians such as Ajoomma filmmaker He Shuming and visual archivist and activist AikBeng Chia.

Supported by the NAC, National Heritage Board, Arts House Limited, National Gallery Singapore, and The Esplanade Company Limited, Catch offers a personalised list of experiences and activities to arts enthusiasts in Singapore. Check out the platform here.
