YHB Sleepsalot

Fast-rising rapper YHB Sleepsalot is best known for his distinct sound and quirky social media presence. Driven by his passion for music from a young age, YHB Sleepsalot began songwriting at 13 and started releasing original music when he was 16, using beats he found on YouTube coupled with his self-taught production.

The willingness to hustle hard paid off when his song “Karabujan” got the attention of Hip Hop icons in the region, SonaOne and ALYPH. Following that came “Terminal” and “Blow Up”, which gained the then-independent artiste a spot on Spotify’s New Era: Asian Hip Hop playlist. The young rapper has opened for top regional acts including MK K-Clique, Kidd Santhe, Tuju K-Clique. 

Having curated his unique sound and versatile discography, YHB Sleepsalot was signed to Def Jam South East Asia, Universal Music Singapore, in 2020, making him the youngest rapper to be making an imprint on the roster. He released his debut single with the label, Don’t Miss Demo, an ode to his writing abilities as a Single that was written in less than an hour. 

In June 2021, YHB Sleepsalot released his latest Single “Jatuh Boi”, featuring Hip Hop veteran SonaOne, chalking up almost 25,000 streams on Spotify and 35,000 YouTube views within 2 weeks of release. Having written the full song remotely with SonaOne in a single overnight session, YHB Sleepsalot’s gifted lyrical flow and hypnotic melodies garnered attention from the likes of NME Asia, TimeOut (Singapore) and Malaysia media such as HITZ, Era, Harian Metro, TonTon and Kosmo. The wunderkind’s magnetism most recently landed him on the cover of Getaran (Malaysia).

Marked by The Straits Times as ‘one to watch’ this year, YHB Sleepsalot keeps expectation high as the rapper and songwriter continues blazing his musical prowess throughout the region.
